PAISLEY IS 7 MONTHS! She sure is growing and learning...and getting into mischief!
She loves:
- pulling up on furniture (okay, anything for that matter). I can be standing at the kitchen sink washing dishes, and she will grab my pants and stand up and chill behind me. She learned this not long after she learned to crawl. Apparently crawling wasn't cool enough.
- bananas, pears, sweet potatoes, and squash. We bought some pears from Costco, and I usually eat one every morning. She will crawl and stand up to wherever I am at and demand a bite. She LOVES eating mom's pears, and the baby food is okay. She definitely would rather chew everything than just swallow the baby food. Stinker.
- chewing on Dad's belt. I don't know if it's the way the leather feels on her gums or what, but she has a thing for belts. She loves when Dad comes home from work and takes a shower, because she knows she can search and find his belt SOMEWHERE.
- being tickled and when people blow raspberries on her belly and face.
- going to the market in the stroller with mom. Everyone talks about how pretty her eyes are everywhere we go. Turns out blue eyes are rare here...you know...since 90% of everyone is darker than us white folk. A little girl at church goes, "Woooooow! She is so WHITE! She is whiter than ME!" Yeah, she's a little native girl. Cracked me up.
- The Muppet's "Mahna Mahna" song. If she is on the other side of the house, I can play it and she will hoot, holler, and crawl until she can find the computer and watch. She likes to "dance," which usually means banging her head and trying to bounce her legs.
- sleeping with her puppy and chewing on his tail...or legs...or nose.... Yeah, he needs washed again... "Crusty Pup"
She hates:
- PEAS! I thought she was about to puke when we tried them. I have more, so we will be trying again, but we haven't had any success with those just yet. I hated peas as a little girl until I realized the beauty of peas from the garden. Hopefully I can convince her. ;)
- being "ignored." A lot of times she is really good at entertaining herself on the floor, but there's sometimes she wants your COMPLETE, undivided attention, and she gets maaaaaad if you walk away or leave her by herself.
She:
- can pull up on furniture (like I said earlier), and is beginning to walk along them to get to things she wants.
- can say "Mama" and sometimes "Dada", but she's really good at blowing raspberries and jabbering.
- can sleep for 6-7 hours, eat, then sleep for another 2-3 hours. She's gotten better about sleeping, and a "bad" night now is 3+ awakenings. Apparently babies sleep in cycles... I miss when she would sleep from 8:30-5:00, eat, then sleep until 8:30 am...
- is wearing 6-9 months clothes and even some 12 month, depending on the brand.
- only uses her pacifier for naps/bedtime.
- wears size 3 diapers.
- gets stolen in church by Auntie Barbara. She is the "ward babysitter," and she loves to steal babies so parents can enjoy the lessons. Last week Paisley went to nursery and played with the toys because Auntie Barbara was subbing the class. I laughed.
She has been so much fun. I am so grateful that I can be home with her, because for the first time since she was born, we are ACTUALLY on a schedule. With me working and Nate in school, it was really hard to try and be consistent with her. She would nap at random times during the day or in the car. Now that I am home I know exactly when she is hungry or ready for bed/nap. I LOVE IT!!! I spent so many months guessing and wondering (which is completely normal with any baby), but being home has helped me really figure her out, and I love that.
She is extremely curious. She loves to touch things to see how they feel, and she loves to climb into anything where she can to hide or pull on cords. She definitely has a "go-getter" attitude!
I could kiss these cheeks all day!
She's looking at Nate going, "Okay, soooo Mom's crazy..." Her hair looks a little red here.
So apparently she wanted to bake...
Big smiles for Mom
I wish I could tell you how this happened...but I have no clue...
