soo....i wrote down the entire crash story + hospital experience....and i accidentally deleted it. there is no way in heavens name i'm typing it all again, so i guess pictures will just have to do. well...let me give you the condensed version.
hit corral & water trough
cut my knee open
mom puked
dad wrapped me up
went to er
shot me up to numb me
i cried
they started cleaning it out & realized how deep it was (clear to the joint)
had to have the joint looked at for damage (SO LUCKY!!!!)
that entailed injecting dye into my joint (so NOT lucky!!!!)
if i had damaged the joint, i would have to have surgery (SO LUCKY!!!!)
no damage means a happy & blessed kayla
went back to get stitched up
iv of morphine = high as a kite
went home and passed out
keflex + lortab + ibuprofen kept me alive
this is the only picture we took of the gash. i never wanted to look at it ever again, but now i regret only taking one. this was after they began to clean it up, so this actually looks quite fantastic compared to what it looked like early. you can see all the bruising that happened almost instantly.

day one of recovery. i woke up to welts on my skin from the stupid bandages. my leg also felt like it weighed 5,000 lbs.

three days after the crash. this was from the iv at the hospital. it took the nurse multiple tries to get the iv in, which wasn't good for me, especially because i hate needles with a passion.
ONE WEEK after the crash. pretty much looked like a worm. by this point i was back to work with a bandaged knee, and that was incredibly hard.
14 days later! i FINALLY got my irritating stitches out! unfortunately, they left 2 stitches & 1 knot behind...which i ended up pulling out myself. those stitches were LONG...and i almost threw up...

taken 8/30- the "worm" has flattened out a lot, and now it looks like a legitimate scar. my scar still pokes through my pants, and i have lost a lot of feeling underneath the scar. for the love...
but i will never forget how incredibly lucky i was. i was NOT wearing a helmet, so it could have been so much worse. bad things happen to test our faith and strengthen our testimony...and now i have a constant reminder of my crazy experience on my body.
braaap braaaaap!!!!
