Weekend Fun- Hapuna Beach & Beyond!

We had SUCH a fun weekend. Nate had Saturday off, so after a little breakfast we hit the road and headed for the beach. This time we went to Hapuna Beach, and it was totally worth it! It was absolutely gorgeous. See for yourself!

The water was absolutely perfect, even at 10:30 am! It was fun to be out in the water and splash around with little Paisley. We bought her a baby floaty, and she wasn't too sure about it at first. She warmed up to it and loved kicking her legs under water. Oh, and she loves to lick anything that's been in the water. Mmmmm salt. We also saw a dark shadow moving out in the water, and every once in a while a little head would pop up. It was a turtle! That was pretty awesome. Nate went out snorkeling around some rocks and saw some really cool fish- like DORY from Finding Nemo. So he convinced me to check it out. The fish are SO COOL and really pretty. That was a pretty fun adventure.

I had a hard time keeping Paisley out of the sand. When it was time to head home, there was sand in her eyelashes, around her mouth, up her swimsuit, you name it. She tried to eat it, too. As you can see in the picture, her feet are covered, but she wouldn't stay put on the towel. She wanted to be playing!

After we got cleaned up from the beach we headed to Kona. Nate stopped the car so I could get myself a flower. I LOOOOVE the flowers here. They are all so gorgeous.

In Kona we went to Bubba Gumps Shrimp Co. for lunch, and it was sooooo good! I loved sitting outside on the water.

We saw lots of pretty yellow fish and even a turtle! That was cool to sit, eat, and watch what was happening in the water. Nate and I stuffed ourselves silly. We had an awesome root beer float for dessert, and Nate's favorite…. bread pudding!!

We headed to get some groceries for the week and a few things at Costco then headed towards home. It's about an hour and a half drive from Kona to Honokaa, so we have lots of downtime in the car. I secretly love it because it's a good chance to shoot the breeze with my handsome husband and talk about everything and anything. I sure do love him. It was perfect timing too because we got to the perfect spot to watch the sun begin to go down over the water.

I absolutely love the sunsets here. If we could go to the beach everyday and watch the sun go down, I would be in heaven. But alas, we are on the wrong side of the island for that. So I take advantage of it when it happens.

Sunday we had Stake Conference in Kona, so we made the lovely drive back. Our stake center is right next to the temple, so that was fun. Paisley was more interested in playing on the floor than anything.

She is all about pulling faces!

On the way home, I snapped this picture thanks to Nate. Here is a visible difference in the two sides of the Big Island- the dry side and the wet side. You can ask Nate all about the science behind why it does what it does because of the mountain and all that jazz, so I will save that for another day. :) He's smart, and I'm not very good at reiterating.

Paisley has also started this new trick where she sticks her bum up in the air. She's wild. She thinks she is an ape I am pretty sure. Nate and I spent the evening just sitting and laughing at the things she was doing. I love my little family. Oh, and we got to FaceTime with my family back home. I oh so love them, too.

I am pretty sure we will never be able to get rid of this box because she will play with it alllllll day. She likes to climb on top, and she laughs when she is successful. It provides cheap entertainment. Who could complain?

We are loving Hawaii, and I love when we get the chance to go out and do fun things. Nate has been working SO hard (mostly in the farming area, but sometimes in the dairy area too). He is usually out of the house by 6 am and gets home USUALLY in time for dinner around 6. Sometimes it isn't until later. One day this week he was gone from 6 am - 10:30 am. OY! I hate not seeing him all day, but I love how hard of a worker he is. He will do all he can to provide for our family, and I love that about him. We are grateful for the Big Island Dairy, and for the opportunity we have to be here. We consider it a big blessing & a great opportunity.

Until next time….

And some videos. I have noticed that they don't work on a lot of mobile devices, so you may have to switch to a computer. They always work that way for me.

If you look close you can see the turtle under water. This was at Bubba Gumps. When a wave comes, you can see his body in the clear water. Kind of cool! It is kind of hard to see at some points, too.

Giggles after the beach!

New tricks. Little Miss Mover after church.
